New Painting Ragdoll and Robot

New Painting Ragdoll and Robot

Finished. “Rag Doll and Robot, misdirection” oil 30”x24”.

I got the Idea while gazing out a huge picture window over looking Yachats, on the central coast in Oregon.   I was fixated everyday, gazing at the village below as the ocean waves rolled in.   On the last day, just befor leaving, I looked up as increadible clouds were rolling in.  I realized there is a lot of beauty in the would but sometimes you have to look away from the obvious.     the painting is a reminder to myself not to fixate on the most obvious thing, but to try to see the much more complicated and revealing big picture.

1st place at Art Show

I really enjoyed my first juried Art Show that supported the Effie Yeaw Nature Center Art Gala last night. My painting " the pink sky echoed beaks and claws" took first place in the completion where 270 pieces were submitted. It was auctioned off for well over the asking price. My deepest thanks to my wife Susan who encouraged me to enter the show and allowing me to hang my "strange works" all over the house.
